URI: P.E.HPDDR+DS+DFfi-fiDF.9

Package: DataLifecycle

< prev | next >

Description: Relay Process has no destination for stored data Data: the model specifies that Process serves Data that is not stored on the process host Host. This means Process is acting as a data relay between a service providing access to a stored copy, and a data consumer process. However, while Process can get data from such a service, there are no flows of Data from Process, implying that Process cannot communicate wth any process that consumes Data. This may mean such a process, or the relationshp from such a process to Data has been omitted, or that Process was meant to be a data storage service rather than a relay, i.e., that Data should be stored on Host.

Threat Type: Primary Threat

Matching Pattern:

MP-HPDDR+DS+DFfi-fiDF

Finds Host running a Process relaying Data which is stored somewhere in the system, where Data flows to the relay from a data store, but is not sent from the relay.
